Kanna, a versatile stimulant
Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is used by the Hottentots in South Africa as a euphoric stimulant. Kanna was traditionally chewed, with the saliva swallowed. African Bushmen also smoked or sniffed the herb, sometimes in combination with other herbs.
Effects Kanna
Kanna can give a good feeling with a reduction of anxiety and an increase of inner peace. The energy can also be increased and you feel socially stimulated. Sometimes the libido can also be stimulated. Kanna contains several active substances, which contribute to both the medicinal effect and the psychedelic effects that users can experience with the herb.
Usage Kanna
Kanna can be smoked, sniffed or drunk. Sniffing gives the fastest and most effect and this powder version is perfect for that. Do not underestimate Kanna: sniffing a small dot already has an effect. About 20 mg is enough to notice an effect, so be careful with your dosage. So you get 50 doses from this tube.
You can also chew it with a piece of gum. In that case, take 100 mg to a gram.
The active ingredients of Sceletium tortuosum are mesembrine, mesembrenone, mesembrenol and tortuosamine. Mesembrine, the main alkaloid, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
Warning
Do not combine Kanna with other SSRIs (Seroxat, Prozac) or MAO inhibitors, such as certain anti-depressants.
